Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how By Faith Apps LLC (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you use Precision Journal (the “Service”) at precisionjournal.io. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information. When you create an account, our authentication provider collects your email address and, if you choose, your name, profile image, and sign-in identifiers.
• Trade data. Trades you enter manually, import by CSV, or sync from a connected broker — including symbols, prices, quantities, timestamps, fees, notes, tags, and screenshots you upload.
• Broker connection data. When you connect a broker, we store read-only access credentials (encrypted) and the trade history, positions, and balances the broker returns.
• Analytics we derive. Metrics computed from your trades, such as P&L, win rate, R-multiples, drawdown, MAE/MFE, and discipline scores.
• Technical data. Limited request metadata (such as a hashed IP address for abuse prevention) and standard server logs.

2. Authentication

Authentication is handled by Clerk. We do not store your password; Clerk manages credentials, sessions, and multi-factor authentication on our behalf. Your identity is verified through Clerk on every request.

3. Broker Integrations

If you connect a brokerage, you do so through SnapTrade or a direct broker integration. These connections are read-only: we can retrieve your trade history, positions, and balances, but we cannot place orders, move funds, or change your account settings. Access tokens are encrypted at the application layer before storage, and you may disconnect a broker at any time from the Brokers page.

4. Trade Data & Analytics

Your trade data is used to provide the Service: to display your journal, compute analytics, and generate reports. We do not sell your trade data, and we do not use it to trade or to provide personalized investment advice.

5. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to secure your session. We do not use advertising cookies. Your authentication provider may set cookies required for login to function.

6. Security

• Every request is scoped to your account; you cannot access another user’s data.
• Broker credentials are encrypted with authenticated encryption (AES-256-GCM).
• Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest by our infrastructure providers.
• Broker connections are read-only by design.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data and trade data, except where we are required to retain records to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes. Aggregated, de-identified data may be retained.

8. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and you may object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at byfaithapps26@gmail.com. You may also delete your account, which removes your associated data.

9. Third-Party Providers

We share information with service providers who process it on our behalf, only as needed to operate the Service:

• Clerk — Authentication and user identity.
• Supabase — Database and file storage.
• Vercel — Application hosting and edge network.
• SnapTrade — Read-only brokerage connectivity (when you connect a broker).
• Databento / Polygon — Historical market data for trade analytics.

Each provider processes data under its own terms and privacy policy. SnapTrade and direct broker APIs are only involved when you choose to connect a broker.

Our site may also link to third-party partners, such as NinjaTrader. Following those links takes you to websites we do not control, governed by their own privacy policies. We do not share your account or trade data with them through these links.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, additional notice.
